Face to face counselling, working from Colwyn Bay - LL29 7YW, Llanrwst – LL26 0AA & Llandudno Junction – LL31 9BA. I also offer telephone and online counselling sessions.
Hello and welcome. I'm Donna, a qualified counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and over 18 years of professional experience in social work, specialising in Children and Families services. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and fully insured, with an enhanced DBS for working with both adults and children.
I offer face-to-face counselling in Colwyn Bay, Llandudno Junction, and Llanrwst, as well as online and telephone sessions for clients across North Wales and the rest of the UK. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, or challenges related to family or life changes, counselling can help you gain insight, clarity, and confidence to move forward.
My background as a social worker has given me in-depth understanding of trauma, attachment, and the long-term impact of separation and loss — insights I bring into my counselling practice. I currently work as a counsellor for both an NHS counselling service and a mental health charity, in addition to my private practice.
I have supported people with a wide range of complex and sensitive issues, including:
Abuse (emotional, physical, sexual)
Neglect
Trauma and PTSD
Mental health challenges
Substance misuse
Domestic violence
Anxiety and depression
Grief and bereavement
Separation and loss
Identity and self-esteem
Whether you’re struggling with difficult life events, longstanding emotional pain, or simply feeling overwhelmed, counselling can offer a space for reflection, clarity, and growth.
Counselling sessions take place in a safe and supportive environment, where your thoughts and feelings can be shared freely. I provide guidance, empathy, and professional support to help you navigate your challenges at your own pace.
Many people come to counselling when life feels difficult or overwhelming. Sharing your experiences in a supportive environment allows you to gain perspective, understand yourself better, and start taking steps toward change.
Together, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences to identify patterns and make informed choices. Counselling empowers you to understand why you feel or react in certain ways and supports you in making decisions that promote wellbeing and growth.
As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, non-judgemental, and confidential space where you are free to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
I believe that in order to truly connect with your inner self and make meaningful changes, it’s essential that you feel heard, safe, and supported throughout the counselling process. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate whatever challenges or emotions you're facing — always at your pace, never rushed.

Why should I attend counselling?
Counselling provides a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It allows you to gain insight, reflect on challenges, and develop strategies to cope with difficult situations. My role is to support you on your journey, helping you find your own solutions at your own pace.
How long will I need counselling?
The number of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients find a few sessions sufficient, while others benefit from ongoing support. We can discuss what might work best for you during your initial consultation.
Can I bring someone with me?
Sessions are intended to be private to provide a safe and personal space for reflection. In exceptional circumstances, this can be discussed in advance.
What happens during a session?
Each session lasts one hour. We begin by discussing what brought you to counselling, then work together to explore your thoughts and feelings. There is no pressure, and you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
Is everything I say confidential?
All sessions are strictly confidential and adhere to BACP ethical guidelines, though confidentiality may need to be breached in certain circumstances to ensure your safety or the safety of others.
